Alexander Stewart Provincial Park

This 31-ha Nature Reserve Class park protects an early successional hardwood forest of Maple, American Beech, Basswood and some less common species such as Blue-Beech and Bur Oak. The reserve is on a plain of clay silt deposits, left behind when the Champlain Sea retreated from the region.

Centennial Lake Provincial Nature Reserve

This 530-ha nature reserve is composed of five separate parcels of land in the geographic Township of Brougham. The largest is an upland area around Oakhill Lake. There are three small island parcels on Black Donald Lake. The reserve protects representative pine, oak and maple forests as well as rare plant species and habitats growing on marble outcrops.Centennial Lake Provincial Nature Reserve was regulated as a provincial park in 1989.

Foy Provincial Park

The non-operational Foy Property Provincial Park is 147 ha and is situated on the northeast shore of Round Lake in the Township of Richards, in Renfrew County. The park is located within the Middle Ottawa section of the Great Lakes – St. Lawrence Forest Region. Eight forest communities have been identified. The topography is a mixture of lowlands accompanying deep sand and sandy till soils along the shore of Round Lake. Hilly topography with generally thin soils cover the eastern portions of the park.

Matawatchan Provincial Park

This 65-ha Nature Reserve Class park features ancient sedimentary rocks that have been changed, or metamorphosed, by pressures from deep within the Earth's crust. These Precambrian rocks include biotite gneiss, quartzite, marble and granite. The reserve lies in a forest region noted for its deciduous-evergreen transition. It is dominated by forests of Sugar Maple, Hemlock, Yellow Birch and Beech. A small valley within the reserve supports large American Elm and Red Maple, and Red Spruce which approaches its western range limit here. Lowland forests include White Cedar and Balsam Fir, meadows, marshes and thickets. The marble outcrops in the reserve are of special botanical interest as they support walking fern as well as several other calcium-loving plants.

Petawawa Terrace

This 200-ha Nature Reserve Class park is located in the geographic Township of Petawawa, in the Town of Petawawa, in the county of Renfrew.
