Ole and John visited the Macnamara trail on May 1, 2013. They saw about 30 species of birds. Highlights included a flock of Rusty Blackbirds, male Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers competing for mates, and a rare spring sighting of a Palm Warbler. Spring ephemeral wildflowers were abundant - Bloodroots, Hepaticas, Trout Lilies and Spring Beauties. They also saw two large turtles a Snapper and a Painted. A link to a nice slide show is posted on the Macnamara Trail Page.

Ole and John checked out the Griffith Uplands on March 7, 2013. Their trip report along with photos is posted here.
The trip was memorable for hard slogging through deep wet snow. They made it to a few of the view points and will definitely be back in better conditions. Stay tuned for future updates!
