Nature Notebook

Welcome Nature Lovers!

Renfrew County, in the Upper Ottawa Valley of Eastern Ontario has a great wealth of intact ecosystems and thriving rich biodiversity. Getting folks of all ages out to enjoy these vast riches is what this website is all about.

You will find here a collection of resources to help you find and enjoy dozens of beautiful natural areas, identify species of plants and animals that you see there, view other people's photos and notes of their visits and share your own observations. There is also a primer on Citizen Science that points to many channels for sharing your observations with conservation and naturalist groups all over North America.

This website is a work in progress, please send us an email with any comments or suggestions you might have. We'd appreciate your feedback! info@ottawariverinstitute.ca
